Fort Ticonderoga Living History Event: 1775 British Prisoners of War
November 11, 2023 Living History Event: 1775 British Prisoners of War | 10am-4pm
In this one-day living history event, discover the stories of captured British soldiers and their families as they were escorted through Ticonderoga as prisoners of war. Following American victories at forts along the Richelieu River in the fall of 1775, those British soldiers and their families that were unlucky enough to be captured faced an uncertain future as they were marched south. Explore their perspective through the sights and sounds of the tenuous lives of POWs in the early days of the Revolutionary War. This event is free to Ticonderoga Ambassadors and Fort Ticonderoga Members, as well as Active and Retired Military personnel in honor of Veterans' Day.
